Experience
I began tutoring when I was in high school, and there I helped students with their economics and math classes, as well as their Chinese language (Mandarin) studies. While I have tutored a variety of subjects, I am most experienced teaching Mandarin and helping students prepare for standardized tests, including the SAT. I also tutor algebra, calculus, and geometry. I attended UCLA where I majored in both Chinese and Economics and minored in Asian Humanities. My strong academic success as an undergraduate, along with the fact that I participated in numerous extracurricular activities, led to my professors suggesting that I join the Departmental Scholar Program during my junior year at UCLA. This program allowed me to put my education on a fast-track by working toward a master's degree while I was still earning my bachelor's degrees. I soon began pursuing my master's degree in East Asian Studies with a focus on China. Upon graduation, I was presented a master's degree with double majors in Chinese and Economics and a minor in Asian Humanities. In my free time, I enjoy reading good books and spending time with my dog. I also like to stay active by hitting the gym, playing basketball, and running.
